Is Big Brother Watching You?
GPS trackers are one of the tools many government and police agencies depend on nearly everyday. Agencies such as the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms), Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, US Border Patrol, Dept. of Homeland Security and many other branches of government utilize GPS vehicle tracking devices for a variety of applications functional to their line of work. Since it is common for various branches of the government to use GPS trackers, we would like to know if you believe the government is using GPS devices to spy on private citizens without probable cause?
GPS tracking devices are so small and portable that they no longer need to be hard-wired to a vehicle’s electrical system. Instead, through the development of outside magnetic technology, a GPS vehicle tracker can easily be attached to the frame of an automobile in seconds! The car owner would never know that their vehicle was recording driving information, and/or transmitting that data where it could be viewed remotely.
Big brother has really extended his vision over the population over the past couple decades as tax auditing has become more precise, video cameras decorate parking lots and street corners, and walking through the airport may require a full rectal cavity search. Although these things are often said to improve safety or save lives, some people suggest they also infringe on personal freedoms and privacy. This is why many people are concerned that the government could be using GPS trackers to monitor private citizens for no probable reason.
GPS tracking laws often fall into what is considered a very gray area. Very few states if at all have passed legislation on the reasonable and appropriate use of car GPS trackers, making it easy and legal for government agencies to monitor the movements of anyone.
