Should Americans Be Allowed Access To Politician’s Locations?

senateIf there is one group of individuals that have carried a reputation for being evasive or dishonest it is politicians. Politicians run for office in their local, state or national area, being elected by there constitutes where they then create legislation and work on improving the well being of everyone they represent through government action. At least that is the basic job description in theory. Unfortunately, often times politicians abuse the system in order to greatly improve their own personal situation either financially or by position. This is why some people are asking that elected officials should be required to wear GPS trackers will engaging in work-related activities.

Many people are probably familiar with the stories of politicians such as Illinois Governor Rob Blagojevich attempting to sell the senate seat vacated by President-elect Obama, or California Representative Jerry Lewis who steered millions of dollars in government appropriations to directly benefit his family and friends. Sadly, the list goes on and on, and now online resources such as Mainstreet are getting recognition for their annual publications of articles about “The Most Corrupt Politicians In America”. With so much dishonesty and lack of integrity surrounding political power, some people believe that personal GPS trackers could provide an answer creating accountability.

These GPS tracking devices have the ability to transmit the location of a person, allowing others to remotely view the data online. Therefore, if a politician were wearing a personal tracking device while conducting business, his or her constituents would be able to view the politician’s movements online.
