Knicks Must Pull Trigger To Get Howard
When will the madness end! When will the Orlando Magic cure themselves of the headache that is causing so much pain for the franchise? Every single week a new trade rumor pops up surrounding the all-star center from Orlando, but for some odd reason the Magic appear to be gun shy about making a deal that would send Dwight Howard to another franchise. Compounding the complicated situation is the fact that Howard has zero desire to resign with the only franchise he has ever known. Although many of the trade rumbling bumblings in the rumor mill have mentioned a number of talented players being swapped for Howard, a recent rumor that includes a package consisting of Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler is something that both the Knicks and Magic should peruse heavily.
Why A Howard To New York Trade Works For Orlando
The Orlando Magic currently remind this sportswriter of the guy whose girlfriend is cheating on him with the entire town, but for some reason can't seem to recognize what the hell is happening. Orlando needs to look in the the mirror and realize that this guy is gone. The only question is are they going to let him go for nothing, butchering the franchise for years, or get some real value for him. By sending Howard to the Knicks the Magic would acquire a player in Stoudemire who has had proven success in a up-tempo offense, the same type currently being used in Florida. On top of that, Orlando would also acquire a defensive presence in Tyson Chandler. With Stoudemire under contract for many years to come, the Magic would get a franchise player, a proven commodity in Chandler and the talent required to contend in the eastern conference for years to come.
Why A Howard Trade To New York Works For The Knicks
Let's face it, a rocket scientist is not needed to point out that Amare Stoudemire and Carmerlo Anthony do not compliment each other as teammates. Individually, they are both impressive offensive threats, but they simply can't get enough touches to get a good rhythm going when they play together.
One of them needs to go, and it likely won't be the kid from Syracuse.
Tyson Chandler was the perfect fit for the Dallas Mavericks last year, helping them win an NBA championship, but the defensive schemes of the Knicks simply don't utilize Chandler's full range of talents. Of course, it's never good to let a solid center leave your team, but when the replacement is arguably the best center of this generation then the trigger must be pulled.
If the Knicks and Magic can hammer out that details to send Howard to New York for Chandler and Stoudemire, the trade would be one of those rare instances when both teams benefit for both the long and short term. "Howard wants to go to a big market, and the chemistry on the Knicks is toxic, making the trade perfect for both parties", explained a NBA sports writer for a GPS vehicle tracking device company, GPS Tracker Shop.
Hopefully, this deal gets done sooner rather than later because the Knicks are already digging themselves a hole they might not be able to crawl out of in time to make the playoffs. The Magic also need to realize they won't get a better deal than the one being floated around in the rumor mill.
