New Jersey Dwight Howard Trade

Nets Living On A Prayer

dwight-howardThe New Jersey Nets move to Brooklyn can't happen soon enough. The only problem is that once they move they could continue to be one of the worst teams in the NBA unless the prayers of the team and fans is answered: Dwight Howard comes to the Nets.

Howard has stated he wanted to play for a contender, but already resides on a team that will certainly make it into the playoffs. The Orlando Magic are also only a few years removed from getting within two games of the championship. However, let's not kid ourselves for one second. Most NBA players today would rather star in commercials, and make maximum dollars rather than win championships. Howard even including New Jersey on his so-called wish list of teams clearly shows that the all-star center is interested in building his brand, not championship trophy case. Nonetheless, if Howard does get traded to the garden state or signs there after the season, he will undoubtedly be rescuing a franchise on the verge of total collapse.

After all-star guard Deron Williams basically got hall of fame coach Jerry Sloan to quit, nobody expected his time with the Jazz would end only a short time later. However, with the Nets basically selling their stockpile of draft picks to Utah for Deron Williams, the Jazz made the wise to decision to move their diva point guard.

When Williams arrived in New Jersey, everybody thought the amazing point guard would instantly put the Nets into the playoff mix. Wrong! Once Williams arrived he has done little to elevate his teammates, causing the Nets to retain their title as the laughing stock of the league (although Charlotte Bobcats are trying their best to win that dubious distinction). With Williams having his suitcase packed and one foot out the door, if the Nets can't find a way to get Howard no superstar free agent will likely be walking through the door for years and years to come.

"This franchise has some exciting things happening with their new arena in a energetic city of Brooklyn right around the corner", explained a NBA enthusiast for a fleet tracking company based in Southern California called GPS Tracker Shop. "However, all of that buzz will go straight down the toilet if the team can't sign a big-time player because Williams is the best they got, the face of the franchise, and that team still sucks. Can you imagine where they will be without him!?"

The Nets are in a terrible spot because they sit a million games out of the playoffs, and can't seem to ever get a thing out of the NBA lottery draft. They have a star who can't seem to get his team to win, and looks to have had enough with his team. If he was disgruntled in Utah he must be borderline suicidal in New Jersey. The only hope the Nets have is to sign Howard. He is the only hope because no other mega free agent would touch that team with a ten-foot pole.

Howard wants the big stage, all the attention and the tower of cash, and the Nets can give that to him. Unfortunately, the Nets surely won't be able to give him the pieces to win a title.
