Angels Go For Another Red Sox Sweep
- Details
- Category: Sports
Most teams in the AL would never want to play the Red Sox in two series in roughly a week, but that list would not include the Angels. That is because Los Angeles (actually Anaheim) has been crushing Boston. Last week they ripped the heart right out of the Red Sox when they battled back from a 6-0 deficit early and two run deficit in the final inning to earn the sweep at Fenway Park. Now, after a walk-off win Monday and 10-3 full scale beat down Tuesday, the Angels have another opportunity to sweep the Red Sox.
Red Sox Appear Dysfunctional
A team that was once identified with grit and guts, that won four straight in the ALCS against their bitter rival and contended for a World Series every year is now a joke. These are the "chicken and beer" Red Sox. The Boston chockers. Management has failed in seemingly every way possible. They bad mouthed their ex-manager (who only brought the team a World Series win after a million year drought), basically traded the general manager and then finished with a complete extreme makeover of the team. Oh and the players hate their new manager, and seem to take every possible opportunity to make him look foolish. So is it really a wonder why they have been gettin pounded by a team such as the Angels that is actually playing meaningful games?
Angels Need To Improve
Boston has problems, but they also have a lot of talented players still on the roster. The Red Sox are down and the Angels need to keep them there in order to get another series sweep. However, the Angels have to improve on pitching if they want to catch and pass Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Oakland and Detroit for a wild card berth. The halo bullpen has been ugly over the past month. They have been serving up meatballs, and the opponents have been driving them out. The offense has been on a tear, but overall has been inconsistent, scoring 10 one night and 0 the next. both will need to get better fast if the Angels want to play October baseball.
Game Prediction
Lester will get the ball in the finale against Greinke, who has pitched badly at home. If the Red Sox can keep the game close late they will have a chance, but they will be fighting an Angels offense that has dominated this series in Anaheim. This GPS tracker specialist believes this could be a trap game for the Angels, who may be happy already taking 2 of 3.
