Dwight Howard To Lakers Update

Lakers Must Grab Howard
The NBA crown now resides in Miami and it looks like it could stay there for multiple years, judging by the stockpiles of talent taking up residence in South Beach. This is why the Los Angeles Lakers have no choice but to pull the trigger on a trade that would bring All-Star center Dwight Howard to Tinseltown.
The best of the Western Conference basically is the Oklahoma City Thunder followed by about six other teams that would be described as better than average. These better than average teams are squads such as the Mavericks, Grizzlies, Spurs, Clippers and Lakers. They are teams capable of making it to the second round of the playoffs, but simply do not have the talent to compete with the high-energy, balanced attack of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers realize this better than anyone because they were dominated in a second round series against the Kevin Durant led squad in the 2011-2012 playoffs. The Lakers have slowly gotten worse while the younger teams have gotten better, and that is why Lakers' management has no choice but to make a deal for Howard.
Woods Scott Final Pairing At British

Looking Ahead To A Dream Matchup
The first round of the 2012 British Open being played at Royal Lytham & St. Annes did not disappoint. Phil Mickelson did his normal disappearing act at the Open, and world number one ranked Luke Donald also performed his vanishing act on golf's biggest stage. However, the first round storyline of the British Open wasn't about which players we're dwelling at the bottom of the leader board, but rather the sexy names near the top.
Graeme McDowell, Rory Mcllory, Ernie Els, Zach Johnson and Tiger Woods are all within striking distance of the leader Adam Scott. Some of golf's biggest names are playing well, giving all fans of the sport something to look forward to come this weekend. However, the matchup that the entire golf world would love to witness would be a final Sunday pairing between Adam Scott and Tiger Woods. The reason is tension. The possibility of fireworks. Not the tension between the two golfers, but between Woods and his ex-caddie Steve Williams.
After Woods was exposed for being a cheating scumbag, his entire career went to hell in a hand-basket. Maybe it was the complete shattering of his personal life and marriage, or possibly an abrupt end to the steady diet of sex with models and porn stars. Whatever the reason was, Woods lost his mojo on the golf course. Players no longer feared him, and he became irrelevant during the major tournaments he once owned. However, when the whole world turned away from Woods, one man stuck by his side. That man was a close friend and caddie named Steve Williams. The only problem was that during the reconstruction process of Woods' image the puppet masters pulling the iconic golfer's strings decided a split from Williams may be a good idea.
Is Jeremy Lin Worth The Money

Lin-Sanity Has Gotten Insane
In the NFL and MLB, players can come from seemingly nowhere to do amazing things. Guys like Tom Brady, the 199th player selected in his draft class, was able to get a chance opportunity to play, turning that opportunity into multiple Super Bowl wins and MVP trophies. The same thing happened with arguably the greatest hitter over the past decade in Albert Pujols. 401 players were selected ahead of him in his draft class. However, the NBA is a different type of sport where superstars are often recognized early in their youth. LeBron James had his high school games televised because he was so great, and most of the players who made the past All-Star team were first round draft picks at some point in time in their careers. That is part of the reason why the shocking rise of a guard named Jeremy Lin was so stunning.
First of all, NBA players with Asian decent are few and far between in the league, and before Lin arrived, there were zero players of Taiwanese decent. Not to say that Asian players can't perform well on the basketball court, but historically speaking the odds are extremely small an Asian player will play in the association. However, after a string of injuries at the guard position forced the hand of the New York Knicks, a relatively unknown guard from Harvard named Jeremy Lin got the call. Lin-sanity then commenced.
Playing on a 10-day contract, Lin showed a flare for the dramatic early on. His arrival sparked a Knicks winning streak, and his late game heroics became instant legend. He was the talk of the town, a media darling who slept on his brother's couch and took over Gotham City. This left the Knicks with no choice but to offer another 10-day contract that eventually led to him signing a league minimum contract for the remainder of the season.
National League Predictions At All-Star Break

Who Will Represent The National League?
Earlier in the season our GPS tracker device experts predicted that the Philadelphia Phillies would be the team representing the National League in the World Series. Although the Angels still look solid by having control of the wild card position, a person would have to be addicted to crack if they honestly believed that the Phillies had any chance of winning the National League. With that said, our vehicle tracker experts have revised their predictions on which two teams will move deep into October for the National League, and eventually make it to the World Series.
National League
Currently, the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds are the teams that would qualify for the postseason if the season were to end today. Unfortunately for these ball clubs there is still a lot baseball left to play this season. With that being said, let us take a look at each team in contention.
Atlanta Braves
This same Braves team came within one game of making the postseason last year, and are a solid group from top to bottom. Last year they collapsed, and if they want to avoid another disappointing ending they will need to play better. With the Cardinals and Marlins right on their heels, any substantial losing streak will end their postseason dreams. With this being the last run for future Hall of Famer Chipper Jones, the Braves will play their hearts out. They have a good enough ball club to qualify for the postseason, but will need both their young guys like Heyward and veterans like Chipper to play consistently if they want to make a deep run.
Jered Weaver All-Star Game Snub

Weaver Should Toss First Pitch For AL
The voters and managers usually get the MLB all-star selections right on every year. Of course there will always be some slight controversy when a guy like Bryan LaHair somehow gets to play with the best players in the league, and a great player such as Albert Pujols will be watching the game from his television. A handful of situations like this happen every year during all-star selection time, but no snub was worse than the one Los Angeles Angels starter Jered Weaver received.
If you are scratching your head right now thinking "Well Jered Weaver did make the all-star team?", you are absolutely correct. Weaver was once again selected as a representative of the American League to pitch in the all-star game being held at Kansas City. However, the snub comes in the fact that he was passed over to throw the first pitch of the game for another pitcher who is having a much less efficient season. Below are the statistics of two pitchers: one of those pitchers is Jered Weaver, and the other is the starting pitcher of the All-Star game.
Jered Weaver:
- 1.96 Earned Run Average (Best in all of baseball)
- 10-1 overall record (10 wins is tied for third in American League)
- .90 WHIP (Best in all of baseball)
Starting AL Pitcher:
- 2.58 Earned Run Average
- 9-5 overall record
