Canadian Man Discovers Real-Time GPS Tracker On Vehicle
Ontario, Canada-When Ben Ferrill went through his normal routine of checking his truck for any possible damage or mechanical issues, the last thing he imagined finding was a little black box connected to the under carriage of his vehicle by a magnetic mount. Having no idea what the mysterious device was, Ferrill began to fear that the unknown item could be a bomb or some other form of explosive. He immediately became frightened and contacted local law enforcement authorities.
After the device was removed and inspected, police were able to determine that the unknown object was a GPS tracker placed inside a waterproof case. After some investigative work, the GPS tracking device was discovered to be a real-time GPS tracker developed by a company in the United States that markets itself as a business that works primarily with other companies to help develop strategies for fleet management needs. After Ferrill was able to identify the object and find out where it was created, it seemed like it would be easy to locate who purchased the unit and was paying the monthly service obligations required to operate the real-time GPS tracker.
Unfortunately, the GPS tracking company was less than willing to assist in providing the identity of the person who was using the real-time GPS tracker in a malicious way that violated Canadian law.

Spying On A Spouse With A GPS Tracker
Very few people or companies ever want to discuss some of the unique and controversial personal tracking applications that many people purchase GPS trackers to pursue. This is because with most Americans feeling the pinch from economic hardships, paying for a private investigator to uncover possible signs of infidelity simply is not a cost-effective option. This is why some people in relationships are using surveillance GPS vehicle trackers, becoming their own do-it-yourself private investigator in search of possible cheating spouses.
The Most Commonly Used GPS Tracker
For people who are married or in relationships that decide to invest in GPS tracking systems to offer assurance or evidence about a potential cheating companion the tracker of popular choice is GPS Tracking Key Pro. The reason why the device is commonly used among people in relationships is because of the size of the device (roughly the size of a small egg), portability of the unit and easy connection to any target automobile. With this GPS device, a person in a relationship can determine with simplicity the locations a spouse has been, and the amount of time that person stayed at each location. The GPS vehicle tracker data also includes address information.

Boosting The Customer Experience With GPS
Most people can already understand why companies with a large fleet of drivers use GPS tracking devices to manage automotive assets and personnel. What many people may not be informed about is the growing use of GPS trackers among smaller transportation companies such as those who utilize shuttles to move passengers from one location to another.
At first thought, most people probably think about airport shuttle transportation when they think of shuttle businesses. However, many other companies use shuttle services to move guests/customers in an effort to bring convenience to the guest/customer. For example, Universal Studios, an NBC company, has a small number of shuttles used to transport guests around the theme park. When a GPS Tracker Shop representative spoke with the high-profile company about real-time GPS trackers for fleet oversight, Universal Studios was excited about the opportunity and benefits that systems like the SilverCloud GPS could offer.
"When Universal Studios contacted us about their fleet management needs for about 5-10 vehicles they were in need of a tracker that would allow management to observe the driving activity of every shuttle operator", explained a GPS Tracker Shop representative. "However, they also wanted a system in place that would send notifications about arrival and departure times that would help customers better identify the exact moment when a shuttle would be picking up each passenger. Through the use of ShareSpot and geo-fence technology both offered as features of our real-time GPS tracking systems, shuttle passengers can go online and see where the shuttle scheduled to pick them up is located at all times. What is even cooler is that the soon-to-be shuttle passenger can even program a geo-fence that will transmit a notification via email or SMS message, alerting the passenger when the shuttle is 5, 10 or however many miles away from the shuttle passenger's location."

GPS Is Providing More Than Theft-Protection
Small businesses typically operate on tighter margins, fewer employees and only a handful of mobile resources and assets. That is why safeguarding and securing equipment is such a vital part of keeping business moving smoothly as possible. That is because when a small company has a vehicle or trailer go missing that means that a job won't be getting complete that day. Not to mention, the monetary punch that will have to be absorbed for equipment replacement. Looking to take a proactive approach to security, many small companies are making the decision to outfit business assets with real-time GPS trackers in order to boost theft-prevention efforts and worker efficiency.
The process of equipping a trailer with a GPS tracker is relatively simple. First of all, the small business must decide whether they want to place the tracking device on the trailer in a portable fashion, or connect the GPS tracker to the trailer via hard-wire electrical connection. If the business decides to go the portable route then they would need a waterproof case with rugged magnetic mount to easily attach the GPS tracker to the trailer. For long-term GPS tracking, the business may even want to consider investing in a extended battery pack to prolong tracking data up to 100 additional hours. On the other hand, hard-wire connection would require investment in hard-wire cables, and a professional installer to connect the GPS tracker to the trailer locally. Although the cost of a extended battery pack is probably equally to that of an installer, with a permanent electrical connection the fleet management team would not have to ever be concerned with battery-life.

Foreclosure Market Sparks GPS Tracking Interest
Nobody is happy with the current state of the national economy. The unemployment rate continues to top over 10% in many states, government spending has reached record highs and millions of Americans continue to struggle making mortgage payments in the aftermath of a massive housing crisis. In many neighborhoods, it is easy to find for sale signs decorating the front lawns of homes. This is sadly the end result of mass foreclosures, an epidemic that has hit every state. With so many properties in foreclosure or abandoned due to a foreclosure, outside management agencies are then hired by banking institutions to oversee the homes. That means these property management firms need to send a driver out to each property on at the bare minimum a weekly basis. With so many drivers working in the field to check on properties, many property management firms concerned with driver efficiency have chosen to use GPS trackers to document travels.
GPS tracking devices are frequently used by companies for fleet management due to the proven track record the systems have in increasing accountability and theft protection. That is the primary reason why so many property management companies have invested in real-time GPS trackers to monitor drivers who check on foreclosed properties.
"It was important for our company to decrease inefficiencies while also making certain our drivers were taking the best routes possible when checking in on properties", explained Daniel Vazquez, CEO of Platinum Assets. "After purchasing SilverCloud trackers for each one of our company vehicles and connecting the GPS trackers via cigarette lighter adapter, we were able to receive visual evidence of each property the drivers checked up on. In fact, we put up 50" inch television screens in the office that would broadcast the web-based mapping program, allowing every one in the office to see where the drivers were located at any given time. The GPS vehicle trackers have been extremely powerful tools for our company."
